Design and Numerical Study of Serpentine Duct using Flow Controllers for Flow Characteristics Enhancement

In the current work, computational study has been carrying out on both baseline serpentine duct to know flow behaviour and with vortex generator effect of generators properties duct. A set are chosen for study, by keeping all other parameters constant. Here in modelling CATIA V5 is used; discretizing geometry ICEM CFD used. For analysis, fluid dynamics tool FLUENT used, SST k-ù model available used computations, results work will be validated experimental shows that they converged. Use proved extremely effective enforcing active control. Results obtained this pressure recovery at engine face. The ensure inlet comparison well established case decrease face distortion. After comparing result we expecting least 25-35% present significant improvements characterized an improved distortion observed over model. This reduction loss enhances performance thrust also improves overall engine.
